Over 40 years hunting with this bullet and nothing beats it for accuracy or performance.Review by MarineBoar / (Posted on 11/30/2018)I started hunting with my Dad when I was about 4 years old and shooting on my own since I was 5 yrs old. I'm turning 69 yrs old in a month or so. Served 10 yrs active duty USMC in the infantry, got some ribbons in Vietnam, shot on a Base team, hunted various critters across the Western US and tried a lot of different ammo types... Some worked and some didn't work so well. The biggest thing I've learned about hunting is that the possibly one shot you may get on a hunt is not the place to scrimp on costs.
I've been reloading and shooting the 150 gr .308 Nosler Partition in my 30-06 A3-03 sporter since 1975. It chrono's at 2880 fps and holds 0.5 moa (5 shot groups) if I do my part. The handload also works well in my son's Mauser w/ Douglas barrel as well. Most deer just flop over or drop when shot. It's also potent on feral hogs (largest to date apx. 340 lbs.) Worked well on long shots in Az, Ca and Central Texas; and, it's even better on closer shots in East Texas pastures and woods. Yes, I've tied the 'other' premium bullets; but, I haven't been able to get the same accuracy and velocities I do with the Partitions. I have another good handload worked up with the 180 gr Partition; but, I haven't run across anything in the past 40-odd years that the 150 gr Partition won't handle. I get to stalk hunt the hogs at night here year round. (It's legal in Texas.) I beginning to suspect that I probably won't see a better bullet for hunting deer and hogs this lifetime. :)
