  • Great performance on Moose

My son was able to go on a Moose Hunt through an organization called Hunt Of A Lifetime. With him only being 10 years old they decided to outfit him with a 7mm-08 rifle. Nosler was generous to give him two boxes of Trophy Grade Ammo with the 140gr Accubond. I bought 3 additional boxes to make sure he had plenty to practice with. He was shooting fist sized groups at 200 yards before we left. We were wanting to keep the shot within 200 yards due to the relatively small cartridge. When a nice bull was coming in and out and out of nowhere a plane started to fly over got him leery, he turned back to go into the woods. He stopped just shy of the woods broadside and our guide said give it to him. It was a perfectly placed shot in the shoulder. The bull turned around and my son put another perfect shot in the vitals, he then put two more insurance shots in the bull before he fell within 20 yards of the first shot. The distance the bull was when my son shot it (which was laser range finder verified) was 301 yards. Even though I wouldn't have a 7mm-08 at 300 yards as a top choice the Nosler Accubond did the job very well.

I bought a Rem Model 7 in 7mm-08 for treestand hunting. Tried a lot of ammo with horrible results. Tried these and I'm getting .5 MOA all day long. Dropped deer out to 250 yds none of them took another step.
