Great deer bulletReview by olyeller / (Posted on 1/16/2017)Well, 2016 season is over. Son-in-Law and I wound up with 5 deer taken with the 64gr Protected Point bullet. All were one shot kills, all pass-throughs. Ranges were from 60-120yds, all loaded in 223 REM and shot out of AR's
Last one was a neck shot at 60 yds or so. Destroyed the spine and left a 3/4" exit wound in the skin. Longest trail was 50-60 yds after a chest shot that took out heart.
I am a believer in this bullet for deer-sized game.
Kills deer DEADReview by Knitepoet / (Posted on 11/20/2016)Shot my first 223 deer with one of these bullets, pushed by a Nosler listed max charge of CFE223. Severe quartering towards me shot at 150 yards.
Bullet entered just inside the left shoulder blade, transversed the chest cavity hit the last rib and tore a 1.5" oval hole in the chest cavity before the bullet came to rest just under the hide. Buck made it ~ 30 yards before piling up
A couple of pictures of the recovered bullet (If it allows links)
